2018 Cover Design Contest Winner:

Student Doctor Adam Moreno

The cover, designed by Adam Moreno, includes two quintessentially New Mexican scenes. A prickly cactus, Opuntia engelmannii var. linguiformis, affectionately known as “Cow’s Tongue” is set in the foreground of an adobe structure just off of I-10 near Deming. The background is a top-down photograph of the crest of an undisturbed sand dune at White Sands National Monument. The windswept gypsum provides natural textures and endless photographic opportunities a stone’s throw away from Las Cruces. A rich culture, spectacular pastel landscapes, and great weather are a just few of the reasons students and faculty call New Mexico home.
