AOA Category 1-A Medical Teaching – CME Credit Request
Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine was recently accredited as an AOA CME 1-A sponsor.
The Office of Faculty Affairs will submit teaching hours once per semester to the AOA on the behalf of faculty members or guest lecturers.

Must be verified by the CME Department of the medical college, sponsoring hospital, or sponsor (To report CME earned by medical teaching, please submit a letter from the institution stating the number of hours and date(s) to receive credit) CME credits will not be awarded for preparation of lectures |
To process the CME credit, please complete the form below. Once submitted, the form will be routed to the faculty member and their chair for verification of teaching hours and signature via Adobe Sign.
Once the form has been signed, a formal letter of teaching hours will be sent to the faculty member and the Office of Faculty Affairs will submit your hours to the AOA.
*It can take up to 6 weeks for submitted hours to appear on transcript.
**A letter can also be provided to our MD counterparts documenting their teaching hours each semester. Teaching physicians, residents, medical students or other health professionals is an activity that can be claimed for AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™. This activity is self-reported and self-documented by the physician.
