Event Details
Our 5th Annual Medical Student Research Day (MSRD) will return on Saturday, August 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, 3501 Arrowhead Dr, Las Cruces, NM.
MSRD is a yearly event highlighting research performed at Burrell and provides students with an opportunity to present their research projects to fellow peers and faculty. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs organizes the event. MSRD serves as the capstone event for the Burrell College Summer Research Experience, an opportunity for medical students to participate in faculty-mentored research. Presentations will be judged, and the top award recipients will receive funding for a medical conference.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Michigan State University Distinguished Professor Terrie Taylor, D.O. As an internationally recognized physician-scientist, Dr. Taylor spends six months of the year in the African nation of Malawi, conducting malaria research and treating patients, the vast majority of whom are children.
