Alcohol and other Drug Information, Drug Free Schools and Communities Act

The College has determined that the campus and all facilities that it owns, leases or operates shall constitute a drug-free and tobacco-free environment. Information regarding public safety at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine is provided in the Annual Safety and Security Report. The Security Report includes crime statistics for the previous three years concerning certain crimes reported to have occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The Security Report also includes information about:
- police and public safety resources
- reporting crimes
- coordination between law enforcement agencies
- fire and medical emergencies
- crime prevention
- victim support services
- the law and Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine policies
- campus facilities
- residence hall security

Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)
- The College has adopted policies and procedures for the purpose of safeguarding the privacy of a category of customer information defined as non-public personal information (NPI) which it may receive pertaining to its students and employees, in compliance the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA or the Act), as may be amended, and with other applicable regulations (e.g. the Federal Trade Commission’s Safeguards Rule and Financial Privacy Rule). Privacy of Student Records (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that gives students the right to:
- review their records
- to request amendments to their records
- to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information
- and to file complaints with the U.S. Department of Education

Voter Registration and Constitution Day
- Voter Registration
- New Mexico Residents: Information on voting in local, state, and federal elections, and the New Mexico Voter registration form can be found on the New Mexico Secretary of State website.
- Florida Residents: Information on voting in local, state, and federal elections, and the Florida Voter registration form can be found here.
- Other U.S. Residents: If your state of residence is something other than New Mexico, you can either visit your home state’s Secretary website or the U.S. Election Assistance Commission website for voter registration forms and information.
- Constitution Day
- Constitution Day was established by Congress in an effort to increase knowledge about the United States Constitution. On May 2005, the United States Department of Education announced that all educational institutions are required to commemorate Constitution Day by offering educational programs each year on September 17. When September 17 falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, Constitution Day shall be held during the preceding or following week. This day honors the signing of the United States Constitution by the delegates of the Constitutional Convention on September 17, 1787.
